Abstract

This reasearch based on the problem of factors giving foreign aid Israel during the reign of Benjamin Netanyahu against the Druze minority during the Syrian civil war. This is problematic, since Israel originally based on the idea of Israel as a "passive onlooker" and subsequently turned into an active role in assisting the Druze minority near the Syrian border requires some explanation. The Syrian Druze who positioned his neutrals in civil war brought harm to his own people, being exploited by the jihadists of the Islamic State (IS) to justify attacks and repressive measures against the Syrian Druze. It is necessary to elaborate further on the factors causing the Israeli decision to ultimately provide its foreign assistance to the Druze. This study uses the framework of the realism approach in International Relations namely the power and security dilemma in the Israeli decision to provide foreign aid to the Syrian Druze. Then combine it with a bureaucratic incrementalism theory that explains that foreign aid is influenced by public pressure and opinion. This study is qualitative using secondary data, such as books, journals, documentaries, and articles. From the analysis of these data, it is found that the provision of aid made Israel is a form of symbolic domination by Israel efforts against the Syrian Druze. This is reinforced by the public pressure and public opinion of the Israeli Druze that pushed Israel to deploy aid. This grant was also attributed to Israel's security dilemma over IS's repressive actions against the Syrian Druze close to the Syrian-Israeli border so as to make buffer zone as a reaction to border threats.
