Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect and the corelation concentration of bitter leaf (Vernonia amygdalina) extract topically to the effectiveness of wound healing and re-epithelialization incision wound healing in rats. 20 male rats are grouped randomly divided into 5 groups, P0 (vaseline + adeps lanae), P1 (povidone iodine), P2 (bitter leaf extract ointment 16.8%), P3 (bitter leaf extract ointment 28 %), and P4 (bitter leaf extract ointment 39.20%). The research was carried out for 14 days to measure the re-epithelialization score on histopathological preparations skin incision that has been treated. Results of the study showed no significantly difference between the control treatment (p> 0.05). Treatment with bitter leaf extract (Vernonia amygdalina) did not show a different re-epitheliazation with control treatment.
