Abstract

Objective: This study aim to prove that moisturizer contain ceramide, menthol, polidocanol can reduce SCORAD, Puritus VAS, and TEWL better than petrolatum jelly in mild grade atopic dermatitis patient. Method: This study is an analytical experimental study, by comparing SCORAD, pruritus VAS, and TEWL before and after applying moisturizer contain ceramide, menthol, polidocanol and petrolatum jelly in mild grade atopic dermatitis patient. Result: There was a significant difference in decreased SCORAD, pruritus VAS, and TEWL both in each intervention or control groups (p value <0,0001). There was no significant difference when comparing SCORAD, pruritus VAS, and TEWL in both groups. There were no side effects in after applying moisturizer contain ceramide, menthol, polidocanol and petrolatum jelly in mild grade atopic dermatitis patient. Conclusion: Both moisturizer contain ceramide, menthol, polidocanol and petrolatum jelly can reduce SCORAD, pruritus VAS, and TEWL.
