Abstract

This research was aimed to determine the preventive effect of Red Dragonfruits (Hylocereus polyrhizus) peel extract was given by per oral in lowering malondiadehyde level and preventing the decreasing of testicle weight in mice (Mus musculus) exposed by cadmium chloride. The analysis test was using one-way ANOVA. It showed that there were significant defferences of MDA level between group that only exposed by cadmium chloride (x=1787.75+225.27) and group that given 500 mg/kb bw red dragonfruits peel extract (x=1338+219.42) and group that given 500mg/kg bw red dragonfruits peel extract (x=1332.75+238.78). The analysis test of the testticle weight showed significant differences between group that only exposed by cadmium chlorede (x=0.21+0.141) and group that given aquadest and CMC-Na 1% (x=0.245+0.208), group that given 250mg/kg bw red dragonfruits peel extract (x=0.24+0.15), group that given 500 mg/kg bw red dragonfruits peel extract (x=0.25=0.009), group that given 1000 mg/kb bw red dragonfruits peel extract (x=0.255+0.017). It could be concluded that the extract of the red dragonfruits peel could lower the MDA level and prevent the decreasing of the mice's testicle weight on cadmium chloride exposure.
