Abstract

Personal hygiene is one of the causes of illness in primary schoolaged children. It is caused by the lack of to personal hygiene and the environment the purpose of research to analyse the effect of health education by using snake ladder game method which is combined with sing a song method toward personal hygiene’s behavior in primary school-aged children. Methods: This study was quasy-experimental.The total number of respondents are 120 children. The respondents were recruited randomly based on G*Power. The instrument of study are a ladder snake board and singing completeness as well as a questionnaire from Prasetyo (2016). The data were collected used questionnaire and observation than analyzed used significance of <0,05 Wilcoxon sign rank test,Mannwhitney U test, and Kruskal Wallis. Result: The result test of wilcoxon sign rank by using snake ladder method, sing a song, and both all the total values p = 0,000 then <0.05 there is the effect of the ladder snake method and singing on the personal hygiene behavior of the child elementary school age. The result of kruskall wallis that method by snake ladder and sing effective method for elemantary age childreen. Discussion: It can be concluded that method by using “Snake And Ladder Game and Sing A Song” could increased the level of knowledge, attitude, and skills about personal hygiene of 7-10 years old student’s in primary school, kecamatan Paron, Ngawi. Nurses could used this method to achieve optimal result as the health education for children.
