Abstract

Pulmonary Tuberculosis is a chronic disease and require healing time with regular and a long time. Regular treatment with a long time can lead to boredom that will make sufferers seek treatment The purpose of this research is to know the relationship characteristics, knowledge, attitudes, and actions of pulmonary Tuberculosis sufferers with medication compliance in the Clinics of Tanah Kalikedinding of Surabaya. Methods: this study used a cross – sectional. Where there were 32 respondents in this research. The independent variables are the characteristics (age, gender, educational level and employment status as well as the dependent variable i.e. tuberculosis medication compliance. Data analysis was done using the Chi-Square test with a significance level of < 0.05. Results: the results of Chi-Square test shows that age and education have a meaningful relationship with the result p = 0.006 and p = 0,015. For the gender and employment status does not have a meaningful relationship with the result p = 0,419 and p = 0,212. As well as for other independent variables such as knowledge, attitudes and actions also have a meaningful relationship with the value of the Chi-square variable to the 0.000 to knowledge, 0,073 to attitudes, and 0,006 for action variable. Discussion: The concluded that there is a relationship between age and education level of compliance with medication. As well as the existence of a relationship between knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors with medication compliance. Further research is expected to add a number of respondents as well as the broader region in order to obtain results that are more diverse and to get more accurate results
