Abstract
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of carbofuran exposure during lactation period on heart histopathological of mice offspring. 20 adult in lactation period BABLB/C were randomly divided into four treatment groups. Group one (K) as control were given distilled water, group two (P1) were given carbofuran 1/16 LD50 (=0,3125 mg/kg), group three (P2) were given carbofuran 1/8 LD50 (=0,625 mg/kg), and group four (P3) were given carbofuran 1/4 LD50 (=1,25 mg/kg) for nine days from first day their offspring born. 20 offspring were randomly selected each treatment group. On the ten day of treatment offspring dissected and the heart organ was taken to made histophatology sample. Samples were examinal scoring method by billingham in rahman et al., 2007 and analyze with kruskal wallis and continue to mann whitney test. The results showed a significant difference in the rate of heart damage in the kruskal wallis test when continued with the mann whitney test have results in an increase in heart damage as an increase in the carbofuran dose given. At a dose of 1/16 LD50 as much as 9.28 heart damage including minor damage, at a dose of 1/8 LD50 heart damage as much as 12.56 including moderate damage, and at a dose of 1/4 LD50 there was 18.04 heart damage which included severe damage. Conclusion: carbofuran exposure in heart cells triggers histopathological damage to heart organs such as inflammatory cells, degeneration, necrosis, and congestion as the dose is increased.
