Abstract

BACKGROUNDS: CABG or Coronary Artery Bypass Graft is an surgical procedure used to treat patients with Coronary Heart Disease (CHD). Euroscore or the European System for Cardiac Operative Risk Evaluation is a scoring system used almost worldwide as a model for predicting death after cardiac surgery since 1999. In 2011, the Euroscore has been updated to Euroscore II. This change is due to the early Euroscore tend to overestimate the risk of heart surgery procedures and have low discrimination ability. In Indonesia, CHD was the highest cause of death. With the number of CHD sufferers in Indonesia, and cases of high mortality due to CHD, Euroscore II really needs to be examined. AIMS: to assess whether Euroscore II can be used in the Indonesian population so as to know the outcome of Euroscore II as a method of assessing the risk of Morbidity and Mortality in post patients CABG surgery at Dr. Soetomo Surabaya General Hospital. METHOD: This study was a retrospective descriptive by using medical records at Dr. Soetomo Surabaya General Hospital in 2016 - 2017. The samples in this study were 39 patients. RESULT: Patients who performed CABG surgery were dominated by men (89.7%), for the highest age range 46-65 years (59%). In assessing Euroscore II it is considered less effective because it is not appropriate in estimating the risk of patient morbidity and mortality. So the Euroscore II model cannot be applied at Dr. Soetomo Surabaya General Hospital.
