Abstract

The research to determine the pharmacokinetic profile of levofloxacin 500 mg tablet given orally done by taking urine samples. Before taking samples, volunteer had to fasting for 12 hours to empty stomach so that it wouldn’t influence the drug absorption. Samples were taken minimally 7 times the drug’s half life (48 hours). The determination of levofloxacin concentration in urine was done by using UV-Vis spectrophotometry at wavelength 294 nm. Before the concentration of levofloxacin were determined, the validation method e.g. linearity and percent recovery must have been done first. The pharmacokinetic profiles of levofloxacin in urine data were DU∞ which is 397,32 mg and dDu/dt levofloxacin which is 54,12 mg/hour. The linearity curve equation is y = 0,09515x - 0,0069, r = 0,9996 and recovery curve equation is y = 0,087 x - 0,0312 , r = 0,9922. The percent recovery is 86,90 %.
