Abstract

Sindo Trijaya FM Surabaya is one of the most popular radios for adults and business people in Surabaya and the surrounding areas. It gives information about what happened, what is happening, and what may happen wheter in East Java, Indonesia and even the world. As an information-based radio, Sindo Trijaya FM Surabaya not only gives news and information to the listener but also plays some hits music in the 80s until 2000s era. The writer did her internship as a script writer who has a responsibility for making news to broadcast every day. During her internship, the writer gained a lot of experiences and knowledge on broadcasting media. She had to deal with some news and rearranged it into script. It was little bit difficult for the first, but the staffs especially the producers were so friendly and helpful. The writer was taught patiently how to write a script for radio. Besides making news, the writer also had to be a marketing staff, a receptionist, had to join into a meeting, and make adlibs. By this internship the writer could hone her skill of reading, writing, and managing time. As a part of Sindo Trijaya FM Surabaya, the writer should build a good relationship with all the staff. She had a responsibility to explain her scripts to the producers if they did not understand. From the experiences the writer had, she has a recommendation for the English Diploma to give students more information and knowledge about how to write a script correctly. It is important, because nowadays media information is such an influential medium to spread information around the world. There are a lot of chances for students to work in media broadcasting industry. The skill of writing news is useful for those who want to work in the industry. In addition, the writer is delighted to be an apprentice in Sindo Trijaya FM Surabaya. All staffs in Sindo Trijaya FM Surabaya work professionally but still friendly. They build a good environment in the office, so the working atmosphere is conductive. Besides, she obtains a lot of knowledge by doing her internship in Sindo Trijaya FM Surabaya; the writer also could experience the real working atmosphere. She could use that experience as a reference when she works in the future. The way a part of office makes a good relationship to each other, the way of managing the time well, the way of speaking in front of people professionally, and the way of telling her ideas to other staffs are so useful.
