Abstract
Bladder augmentation is a surgical procedure that is performed so that the bladder can safely store larger amounts of urine without causing high pressures or urinary leakage. It is performed for people who have otherwise untreatable urinary incontinence (leakage) of dangerous bladder conditions that may damage kidney function. The goals of these procedure are to improve a person's long term health and quality of life.
