Abstract

Plant tissue culture can perform bi otransformation that modify a compound into its glycoside. This research has purpose to know the ability of cell suspension cultures of Solanum laciniatum Ait. to transform nipagin (methylparaben). From result of toxicity test, known that maximum growth was occurred when the concentration at 200 ppm. The extraction mass cell and analysis using thin laye r chromatrography (TLC) resu lt a biotransformation products that have lower Rf values than nipagin with similar spectrum.
