Abstract
The purpose of this research was to determine the dose of Diazinon toxicity which caused 50% death (LD50) in mice, and the ability of Atropine Sulfate to prevent death. In this study using mice (Mus musculus) which will be grouped into 2 groups, a group of mice were only induced by Diazinon and groups of mice that are induced by Diazinon with the addition of Atropine Sulfate. Doses of Diazinon used in this research included, 0.5 mg / kg body weight; 0.9 mg / kg body weight; 1.6 mg / kg body weight; 2.8 mg / kg body weight; 5 mg / kg body weight given orally. Atropine dose used was 0.01 mg / g body weight of mice which is given by injection under the skin every two hours. The results obtained were the dose that caused the death of mice in the Diazinon acute toxicity test of 1.613 mg / kg body weight, whereas administration of Atropine Sulfate in mice that experienced acute toxicity of Diazinon LD50 was 2.831 mg / kg body weight. It showed that administration of Atropine Sulfate can reduce the mortality rate of mice in the acute toxicity test by 75.5%. The conclusion from this study is that Atropine Sulfate can reduce the death rate of mice with acute toxicity of Diazinon.
