Abstract

Solid Lipid Nanoparticles (SLN) is an alternative colloidal lipid systems created with the aim of several routes of administration, including parenteral, oral, and topical. APMS (4-methoxycinnamic acid) is the active form of EPMS (ethyl 4-methoxycinnamic) that have analgesic and antiinflammatory activity. Mostly, these anti-inflammatory drugs have side effects that irritate the gastric. To overcome these side effects formulated in topical preparations. In this study, it is investigated character of SLN-APMS which formulated by combination beeswax and glyceryl monostearate 100:0; 50:50; 0:100. It is selected tween 80 as a surfactant in 12%. The method used is high shear homogenization at 24000 rpm in 8 minutes. The result show that particle size of SLN-APMS 0:100 is the biggest among other. And for the entrapment efficiency, all of SLN formula doesn’t show meaning difference.
