Abstract
Disney has been known as one of the biggest and most influential company in the world. A lot of stories and children's tales were made by Disney. It is then interesting to investigate how Disney represented their views and values through their characters in their movies. Thus, this present study is conducted in order to investigate the women’s linguistic features and gender roles represented by Elsa and Anna as the main female characters in Frozen II (2019). The theory used in this study is from Coates (2013) who proposes seven linguistic features: minimal responses, lexical hedges or fillers, tag questions, questions, commands and directives, swearing and taboo language, and compliments. This current study applied qualitatve approach. The finding reveals that there are six out of seven women’s linguistic features occured in both Elsa's and Anna's utterances. The features occured including: minimal reponses, lexical hedges or fillers, questions, commands and directives, tag questions and compliments. Gender roles represented by Elsa and Anna are shown as brave, confident and independent. They are no longer portrayed as damsels in distress and they are capable of deciding their own choices and destinies.
