Abstract
Corrective feedback menjadi aspek penting dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran bahasa Inggris sebagai Bahasa Asing. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis WCF dan jenis umpan balik korektif tertulis yang paling sering diberikan oleh guru untuk tulisan siswa. Teori Ellis (2008) tentang umpan balik korektif tertulis digunakan untuk menganalisis data. Menurut teori, ada enam jenis umpan balik korektif tertulis: direct, indirect, metalinguistic, focused and unfocused, electronic, and reformulation corrective feedback. Penelitian ini melibatkan satu guru dan tiga puluh empat siswa di kelas delapan SMPN 1 Taman Sidoarjo. Dikumpulkan online, data penelitian ini mencakup umpan balik korektif guru dan alasannya untuk menggunakan umpan balik korektif. Penulis menemukan empat jenis umpan balik korektif tertulis yang digunakan oleh guru dalam penelitian ini. Itu adalah direct, indirect, metalinguistic, focused and unfocused corrective feedback. Jumlah total kejadian dalam umpan balik korektif tertulis adalah 740. Direct corrective feedback adalah jenis umpan balik korektif tertulis yang paling sering diberikan oleh guru untuk menulis bahasa Inggris siswa di kelas delapan SMPN 1 Taman Sidoarjo dengan jumlah total 317 (42,84) %). Sering menggunakan direct corrective feedback dapat membantu siswa memahami kesalahan mereka dan dapat membantu mereka meningkatkan tulisan mereka, terutama dalam hal penggunaan tata bahasa.
