Abstract
Kidney disorders are disorders that affect the kidney caused by various factors, such as infections, tumors, congenital disorders, metabolic or degenerative diseases, and others. Some plants that have been reported and known to pass kidney stones and increase urine are Sonchus arvensis L, Strobilanthes crispus L. Blume, Orthosiphon stamineus, and Plantago major. Herbal products in circulation must meet quality and safety regulations. Fingerprint analysis can be used to assess the quality and to evaluate the safety of herbal products. Chromatogram fingerprint is obtained using the HPLC instrument. The method on this literature review is a narrative review of four articles, each contained the fingerprints from the Sonchus arvensis L, Strobilanthes crispus L. Blume, Orthosiphon stamineus and Plantago major extracts. Based on this literature review, it can be concluded that fingerprint can be used as a quality control parameter using HPLC method on the Sonchus arvensis L, Strobilanthes crispus L. Blume, Orthosiphon stamineus, and Plantago major extracts in herbal products to treat kidney stones.
