Abstract
Introduction: The use of pesticides in rice farmers did not often following the rules that had been set and can caused the health problems, one of which was an increase in blood pressure. It was important thing to do and explain more about the factors of pesticide use on blood pressure. The purpose of this review is to describe the factors of pesticide use on the blood pressure of rice farmers. Methods: Searched some of the articles with five indexed databases Scopus, Proquest, ScienceDirect, Garuda, and Google Scholar with the used of adequate keywords. The framework used was PICOS with inclusion criteria, English and Indonesian journals with a publication range between 2016-2021. All the selected articles were found based on the title, abstract and full text to determine the feasibility of the article and the results obtained 14 articles that were reviewed. Result: From the 14 articles, it showed that there are several descriptions of the factors of pesticide used and are divided into two, such as factors on pesticides, the level of pesticide exposure, pesticide dose, type of pesticide and duration of pesticide exposure. The next factor was the factor of rice farmers, which was the length of work of rice farmers, knowledge and behavior of rice farmers and nutritional status of rice farmers. Discussions: Preventive efforts in the form of health promotion to rice farming communities which was related to pesticides need to be done to increase the awareness, concern and knowledge of rice farmers on the use, impact and danger of pesticides.
