Abstract

Maturity development is a process of change from immature psychological condition to be mature one. This psychological process involves physical. emotional, social, and intellectual development. Maturity development is an interesting issue to be studied because every human being experiences it and it is important in life. Everyone needs maturity to face the life wisely both failure and success in achieving an ambition. Lynette, the heroine in Ruby M Ayres' Steering by a Star, experiences maturity development and has an ambition to be a film star. Lynette's maturity development is interesting to be analyzed because it gives a deeper insight about a problem that can be seen from psychological point of view.
