Abstract
Has been conducted a research about Waste Utilization Lead Aluminum Film Shield Dental for Thyroid in Radio diagnostic Installation Gedung Pusat Diagnostik Terpadu (GPDT) RSU Dr. Soetomo. This study has the aims to prove that actually the waste aluminum leads dental films can be used as a substitute for Ph radiation protection.
This research belongs to a qualitative descriptive study of lead waste aluminum dental films by arranging the waste into sheet and measure the rate of radiation exposure on each sheet using surveimctcr at a distance of I meter and 2 meters from the source of radiation by watching the eksposi factor and the thickness of material. Furthermore, the measurement data is processed with the formula so that it can be known which rate exposure belongs to the minimum rate if it is used as materials for thyroid shield. In this study the authors also tried to make innovation thyroid shield made of aluminum leads waste dental films.
Based on the results of the study. investigated I sheets of lead waste aluminum dental films with a thickness of 1.4 mm which it can effectively used as materials for thyroid shield. because in the study showed that actually the radiation exposure rate which less than standard of thyroid shield which made Pb which have the thick of 0.50 mmin Radiodiagnostic Installation Gedung Pusat Daignostik Terpadu (GPDT) RSU Dr. Soetomo.
