Abstract

Language testing is important to know the degree of language ability of the testees. When a testee takes a language test, the result may be influenced by his formal linguistic background In this study the writer tries to relate the scores on skill subjects with the scores on TOEFL model test of the testees. The writer got 28 respondents as the testees from students of the English Department They attend a TOEFL model test held by the writer. The testees have not attended courses at other fonnal language courses except at English Department They must pass the test on skill subjects used in this study. Through a statistical calculation, the writer will anal)'7.C about the relationship between the scores on skill subjects and the scores on TOEFL model test.
