Abstract
This study is intended to use the jigsaw technique to improve the students' speaking fluency of the eighth graders. In a jigsaw speaking activity, the students are divided into jigsaw groups. The students then form expert group so that at least one member of each jigsaw group is in each expert group. Each group then discusses one piece or one part of the topic and becomes the 'expert' of that part of the topic. After that, they return to their jigsaw groups to share their parts with the other members of the group. Each student then was given an opportunity to present their comprehension on the complete version of the topic or story. This study is designed as both qualitative and quantitative research. This study is conducted in four meetings in which a jigsaw activity for each meeting. The subjects are the eighth graders of class 8A of SMPN 1 Pamekasan.
