Abstract

Jerry is a picture of a man who lives in a solitary world and alienates himself from any meaningful human relationship. He denies every single effort encountering his world, he· avoids the disturbance of other human's existence, and he refrains from trying to know anyone else in his surroundings. This kind of way of life drives him into the so-called absurd world, in which only nothingness and meaningless exist. The awakening of Jerry from the desperate isolation happens when a thing, which is a dog, tries to break out this solitary. confinement. And Jerry, as always, refuses to respond; but this time he finds it hard not to get involved. His realization is then, to accept the nature of human interaction as an attempt of making contact with other person. It brings him to the profound understanding of the significance of being human. And indeed, it makes him more human than he has ever been.
