Abstract

This research use the object corps of short story Perempuan Yang Menunggu (PYM) of masterpiece Dorothea Rosa Herliany to analyze the element of gender deconstruction in order to give attendant about the gender construction in a society and in the PY/vi itself. A tendency of gender construction in a society is studied about the image of gender construction which formed by patriarchate especially in Indonesia. Gender construction in the PYM study about gender construction which are in the PYM and compared to the construction which formed in patriarchate. In this case. the author raise the element of gender deconstruction which is dominant enough so that can be expected a totality of meaning from the explanation of tendency gender construction in a society and corps of short story PYM. Therefore, the important thing that is further required to get the obvious understanding about the connection of gender deconstruction at PYM with the gender reality in a society is a tendency of gender construction in a society and the corps of short story PYM. The tendency of gender construction in a society surrounding of construction of physical gender, psychological and language as attendant in understanding of gender reality. Gender construction in the PYM surrounding of construction of physical gender, psychological and language to give the suitable image between gender reality in a society and gender in the PYM itself, so that deconstruction can be conducted systematically and practically according to existing construction.
