Abstract

This thesis is about how gender and race issue that portrayed in The God Must Be Crazy 2 movie by Jamie Uys. The Gods Must Be Crazy 2 story is about Bushman (Xixo) searching for his son and daughter Xiri and Xisa that lost because they follow the track of the wheel that owned by two elephant poachers. This study aims to show that patriarchal and racial issue still happen although it is old movie. The writer use qualitative method to analyze the narrative and non narrative aspects to breakdown the research. This study applies Feminist criticism by Bell Hooks. The result detennines that there are hierarchy between black man and black woman, white man and white woman that portrayed in this movie. The issues is white supremacy ideology in which power is owned by the white people. However, although the white woman is portrayed more powerful than her nonwhite counterparts, white man is more dominant compared to white woman.
