Abstract

Underfives is an age group with a susceptibility towards nutritionalproblems, either due to less dietary intake or the administration of undernutritioussupplementary food. As one of some alternatives of supplementary food forrestoring nutritional status, Modisco can be given to underfivesdue to its high calorie and protein content. This study was aimed to find the influence of Modis coadministration on body weight increase in underfiveswith undernutrition at RWVI, KlampisNgasem, Sukolilo, Surabaya.This study used pre-experimental one-group pre- and post-test des ign. Thepopulation was all underfiveswith undernutrition at RW VI, KlampisNgasern,Sukolilo, Surabaya. Total sample was 27 respondents, recruited using purposivesampling. The independent variable was Modisco administration, and thedependent variable was body weight increase. Data were collected usinginterview, questionnaire, observation, body weight scaling, and Modiscoadministration to the respondents. Data were analyzed using ANOVA (Analysisof Variance) with significance level of p = 0.000 I using SPSS computer programversion 11.00 for MS Windows. Results showed that Modiscoadministrationsignificantly increased body weight of underfiveswith undernutrition (p =0.0001).
