Abstract
Introduction: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic is an epidemic that is currently engulfing various parts of the world. Prevention of COVID-19 needs to be provided by providing knowledge with innovative methods regarding the prevention of COVID-19 which is expected to be able to break the spread of the Covid-19 virus Objective : To explain the effect of the make a match method on the prevention of COVID-19 in students at SMAN 2 Majalaya. Methods: This study has a quasi-experimental design. The population is class XI students of SMAN 2 Majalaya totaling 360 people and the sample used is 2 classes totaling 78 people, divided into 2 groups, namely the treatment and control groups, the selection of respondents using purposive sampling technique. The independent variable is the make a match learning method. The dependent variable is knowledge, attitude, and preventive measures for COVID-19. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed with the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and the Mann Whitney Test with a significant value of 0.05. Results: From the results of the bivariate analysis, there was an effect of health education on knowledge (p=0.000), attitudes (p=0.000), but on action (p=0.258) there was no effect on the treatment group and the control group. Conclusion: the results show that the make a match learning method is effective in increasing knowledge and attitudes to prevent COVID-19. In the action there was an increase after giving the intervention but there was no difference between the control and experimental groups. Health workers can provide prevention with a variety of methods. Health workers must take more steps to prevent COVID-19
