Abstract

This research's goal is to discover the potential of the optimal composition and effect of nanozyme-carbon as a cigarette filter in overcoming lung damage caused by cigarette smoke. The filter was modified by adding synthetic activated carbon, graphene oxide (GO), and copper tannic acid nanozyme (CuTA). Twenty four Mus musculus were divided into four groups. This is treatment P1(A) 25:10:50, treatment P2(B) 50:20:75 treatment P3(C) 75:30:100, and treatment K+. Each group was exposed to four cigarettes a day. This research was conducted for four days. On the 5th day, a laparotomy was performed on mice that had been necropsied and euthanized using ether by inhalation. The mice's lung organs were taken, then fixed into 10% Buffer Neutral Formalin (BNF). Microscopic observations were made by making histopathological preparations with Hematoxylin Eosin (HE) staining with lung damage parameters observed were oedema, inflammatory cell infiltration, and thickening of the alveolar septum. These results indicate that the modification of the cigarette filter affects inhibiting respiratory organ damage with the optimum composition in treatment P3(C) with a ratio of activated is 75:30:100.
