Abstract
The increase in positive cases of COVID-19 in Indonesia has caused the Indonesian government to implement policies to prevent the transmission of the virus by limiting large-scale community activities, including activities in the health service sector, thus impacting the provision of family planning services. Injection contraceptive services that depend on health care facilities are disrupted because many service providers close and limit patient visits. This of course causes a decrease in the motivation of the acceptors and can lead to many cases of contraceptive drop out. The purpose of this study was to determine the determinants of the causes of dropout acceptors of injection contraceptive during the COVID-19 pandemic in Semampir District, Surabaya City. Qualitative research design with a phenomenological approach. Data was collected by means of in-depth interviews, observation and literature study. The research location is Semampir District, Surabaya City. The research period is July- December 2021. The main informants in the study were mothers of injectable contraceptive drop out acceptors totaling 11 people with inclusion criteria: willing to become research informants, couples of reproductive age with women aged 15- 49 years, couples of reproductive age who stopped using injectable family planning starting in March 2nd, 2020, married and domiciled in the Semampir District, Surabaya City. The key informants of this research were 13 people consisting of: acceptor's husband, health center midwife, PLKB, OPD KB and DP5A Surabaya City. Qualitative data analysis with data validity and reliability. The validity used is triangulation of sources, data and methods. The results. Predisposing factor causing the acceptor's behavior is the work factor, this is because most of the informants are mothers who do not work so that the purchasing power of contraception is limited. Reinforcing factor in this study is husband's support, this is due to a lack of material support due to reduced husband's income during the pandemic. Enabling factors that cause contraceptive drop out cases are the existence of a health protocol and the necessity of an antigen swab, this factor is the cause of the decline in acceptor motivation because it is related to contraceptive purchasing power and limited access to health services. The conclusion of the study that the determinants of the behavior of injecting contraceptive dropout acceptors during the COVID-19 pandemic in Semampir District were the work factor, the husband's support factor and the 5M health protocol factor and the need for an antigen swab.
