Abstract

Fenomenamusik pop Korea semakindikenalolehmasyarakatluas, khususnya di Indonesia.Beragamboybanddangirlbandasal Korea Selatan, mulaibanyakdikenaldandisukaiolehmasyarakat Indonesia.Penggemarmusik pop Korea inimulaimembentukkomunitas-komunitas di masyarakat, danmemunculkangayahidupK-pop. Hal inidapatdiamatidarigayabusanadangayabahasaparapenggemarK-pop yang tergabungdalamkomunitas-komunitas K-pop.Merekasalingberinteraksimelalui media sosial, danseringmengadakanberbagaiacarauntukberkumpulbersama. Oleh karena itu, ditarik suatu rumusan masalah tentang fungsi komunitas K-popELF Surabaya sebagai wadah penggemar K-pop bagi anggotanya. Alasanpenelitimemilihkomunitas ELF Surabaya, dikarenakankomunitastersebutmerupakansalahsatukomunitasKpoppenggemarboybandSuper Junior di Surabaya.Komunitasinisudahberdirisejaktahun 2011, danmasihaktifsampaisekarang.Metodedalampenelitianiniadalahkualitatifdengante knikpengumpulan data observasidanwawancaramendalamkepadaparainforman, seperti, ketuakomunitas, penguruskomunitasdananggotakomunitas.Hasil penelitian dianalisisdenganteorifungsionalstruktural Radcliffe Brown, yang bergunauntukmengetahuifungsidarikomunitasK-popsebagai wadah penggemar Kpop bagi anggotanya. Hasil dari penelitian ini, peneliti menemukan fungsi dari komunitas ELF Surabaya, yakni sebagai identitas kelompok, menambah relasi sesama penggemar, tempat untuk mendapatkan hiburan dari segala tekanan hidup, tempat untuk berbagi informasi, dan wadah untuk mendukung idola. Dengan masih berfungsinya komunitas seperti yang diharapkan oleh para anggotanya, maka komunitas ELF Surabaya bisa tetap bertahan dan terus mendukung idola mereka Super Junior. Dari sana dapat diamati pula gaya busana dan gaya bahasa anggota komunitas ELF Surabaya saat mereka mengadakan berbagai macam acara komunitas. Translation: The phenomenon of Korean pop music has become increasingly recognized by the public, particularly in Indonesia. Various boy bands and girl bands has started to gain popularity and loved by the Indonesian. These Korean pop music fans has begun to build communities and brought K-pop lifestyle. This can be observed from the clothing and language style of the K-pop fans who are member of such communities. They interact with each other through social media, and often held various events to get together. From this issue, research question can be formulated regarding the function of Surabaya ELF K-pop community as a K-pop fans community for its members. Surabaya ELF community is one of the fans communities of the Korean boy band Super Junior in Surabaya. This community was established in 2011 and still active today. This research uses qualitative method with observation and indepth interview to collect data from the community chairman, officials, and members. The data was then analyzed using the Radcliffe Brown’s theory of structural functionalism, which is suitable to learn the function of K-pop community as a K-pop fan base for its members. This study found that the function of the Surabaya ELF community is as group identity, to improve the relation between fans, as a place to get entertained amid the anxieties of life, as a place to share information, and to support their idol. As long as the community functions as its member intended, Surabaya ELF community will continue to exist and support its idol, Super Junior. In addition, we can also observe the fashion and language style of the Surabaya ELF community members when they held various community events.
