Abstract
Health Centers Performance Assessment (Indonesian: Penilaian Kinerja Puskesmas or PKP) in 2013 showed that 97.6% of health centers were considered not good; 57.14% were poor and 40.46% were moderate. The unsatisfactory result mentioned need to be assessed in order to understand the causes thus improving the performance of health workers in health centers in Surabaya. Previous study conducted by Reddy (2010) showed that a good quality of work life in one organization can increase employee productivity. Based on these studies, further study was needed to measure and analyze the quality of work life of health workers in many public health centers in Surabaya. According to Walton‟s Theory, there are 8 criteria of Quality of Worklife. The Constitutional criteria is not being analyzed in this study. The results of this study showed that the quality of work life had an influence to the performance of health workers in health centers in the city. Based on linear regression result, among those 7 criterias of Quality of Worklife, 2 influences performance. Safe and healthy work condition towards performance is p= 0,027. Opportunity of develop human capacity towards performance is p= 0,028.
