Language always changes over time. This changing might happen because of contact among languages so that languages influence each other. The same case also happens in Indonesia, especially for Indonesian language and English language. There is a tendency of people nowadays to prefer to borrow English vocabulary in proper Indonesian language. This may lead to the increase of English loanwords in the Indonesian language. In order to analyze this phenomenon, the present study investigated the use of lexical borrowing and its change during borrowing process. The data were taken from the article about final match East Java Series in DetEksi Jawa Pos newspaper in 2013 until 2015 with the total number of the words is 4455 words. From the data, the author found that in 2013, the lexical borrowing occurs 235 times with 207 of them are loanwords, 25 of them are loanblends and three loanshifts. In 2014, the total number of lexical borrowing occurrence is 266 with 227 of them are categorized as loanwords, and the rest 39 times are loanblends. In 2015, the lexical borrowing found in the article is 305; 278 of them is loanword, 22 of them is loanblend and five of them is loanshift.
