Abstract

The condition of the city of Jayapura and Papuans in general are susceptible to HIV-AIDS is based on the fact that there is in the people of Papua will be the high cases of HIV-AIDS, encouraging the Government of Papua Province through KPAD (Regional AIDS Commission) to disseminate information about HIV-AIDS to the community . This information is disseminated by bebgai ways, one through Public Service Ads (PSAs) on HIV-AIDS. Advertising is not just a form of communication in marketing a product or service, but also can be used as a medium in the delivery of ideas and social message to the community. The provincial government through KPAD papua using Public Service HIV-AIDS condom watch yourself, watch papua from HIV, to provide information on the dangers of HIV-AIDS to the people of Papua in order to take reasonable precautions against the disease by using condoms. So expect the level of the spread of the disease is not growing. This descriptive research methods Reception Analysis. This study wanted to find understanding and meaning the audience to a message from the ad. Resource persons as informants is composed of thirteen men and women who have a background of different contexts. The results found that there are parties / informant that captures the meaning of these ads as informants PSK, but some other informants did not agree with the reason not everyone is familiar with actor ad, the tagline that is in use less fit, your advertising message will be understood by watching the serious attention and in the middle and upper educated audience. In addition, advertising messages to be conveyed by the advertisers were not fully interpreted in accordance with the original purpose of informants from the message.
