Eiementary school students are considered to be beginners In learning English, Hence, the students have to be given enough opportunIties to experience a variety of activi1tcs to s.peak English, A variety of activities ~uch ~ reading aloud, describing picture, whispering game, and miming game are eftective and beneficial for teaching speaking to the 4th grade of elementary school students at SDN Dr, Soe1omo VIISD};
Dr. Soetomo Vll has lack of language model such as: reading material of all sorts, audJO and video tape. In this case, students onty get a model of language from textboo"k and the teacher, Therefore, the teacher has to be a good language model since he/she is a main resource in teaching English.
