Abstract
Produksi tepung ikan meningkat dari satu juta ton dalam tahun 1955 menjadi empat juta ton dalam tahun 1967. Produksi tepung ikan tertinggi adalah Peru kemudian nomor dua Chili. Jenis tepung ikan yang bisa dipakai dalam ransum, sebagian berasal dari Anchovetta yang di hasilkan di Peru dan Chili. Tepung ikan Menhadden sejenis teri di hasilkan di daerah Teluk Meksiko dan Pantai Atlantik dari Amerika Serikat (Wahyu, 1982).
