Abstract

The first is about the method of website translation which is used by PT.BEC Feed Solutions. The writer uses Word-for-word translation, Faithful translation, and communicative translation. For example, timing for use Word-forword translation, Faithful translation, and communicative translation. Essentialy, analyzing the contents of company website was not always easy for the writer in internship period. The writer also got obstacles, for example when she did not understand the context or the meaning of certain technical terms in foreign sources. To overcome the problem, the writer learned further about the field related to the foreign source as well as the source language’s culture. During the internship, the writer always consults with a marketing manager who is an expert in creating content or other contributors. Second, From the discussion above in the previous chapter, the writer also concludes that the strategies of translation that were most frequently applied in translating website contents are combination addition and substraction with 35%, followed by addition with 25%, substraction 25%, and transposition 15%. The most dominant strategies applied by the writer in translating website contents is combination addition and substraction (35%), because every single word of the source language is translated directly word for word by the writer. It might be used properly if the context requires the use of such technique. Or else, the use of combination addition and substraction raises problems dealing with the equivalent. According to the writer’s observation, it might be caused by the lack of the writer knowledge and understanding related with both the translation technique and the meaning of the context.
