Abstract

From the discussion section, there are some points that can be concluded by the writer. First, drilling technique, which is based on audio-lingual method, can effectively be implemented in tecahing vocabulary as proven by the data the writer has collected. Drilling technique was used as the main technique in teaching vocabulary where accurate pronounciation was one of the main focuses of the lesson. From the oral assessment, the result showed that each student averagely could remember eight until nine words where formerly each student normally could only remember five words where drilling technique had not been used as the main technique. It proved that drilling technique can be applied in tecahing vocabulary. Second, from the obstacles arised during the teaching process such as an unorganized classroom and the limited time of teaching-learning process, there were some solutions the writer could do. Grouping students could be done to resolve the problems. Reset the seat arrangement into pod or group could make more space in a small class and made the room more organized. Applying pod seat arrangement could also help the writer to do drilling teachnique in small group. Therefore, the writer could observe which students need to be trained in pronouncing the vocabularies more accurately. Finally, assissting students while they were doing exercises was a solution for the writer when teaching a class in a limited amount of time
