Abstract

Background: The measurement of mandible gonial angle by gender and age have been much done in many countries. But the measurements have never been done in Indonesia. Purpose: The aims are to determine the results of measurements on men mandible gonial angle by age through panoramic radiograph. Methods: 54 men panoramic radiographs who were divided into three age groups are Group A (25-34 years old), Group B (35-44 years), and group C (> 45 years). The size of gonial angle in each group were measured and tabulated. And then, they were analyzed using One Sample Kolmogorov Test, Repeated Measures ANOVA, and Paired Sample T – Test. Result: Average of men gonial angle in the 25-34 years age group are 123.1o, in the 35-44 years age group are 122.2o, and in the > 45 years age group are 121.3o. Conclusion: the increasing age of men, the size of men gonial angle will be decreasing.
