Abstract
Books have several different genres and types. Translators must understand each book's contents and determine the appropriate translation style to attract the readers. In translating books, especially in the translation of self-help books, it is necessary to have naturalness and clarity in each word choice. For this reason, translators must apply the translation strategies and principles to support better translation results. The theory used in analysing the book "The Mind Manual" by Andy Gibson is the translation principle proposed by Duff (1990), there are meaning, form, and source language influence. Also, the translation strategies from Vinay and Darbelnet (1995) are borrowing, transposition, and equivalence. The results of this analysis are expected to provide helpful input in translating.
