Abstract

The word "songs" refers to pieces of music which have words, especially popular songs such as those one hears from radio. In general, songs as art works have some elements in common with speech and poetry. They are unique forms. Both song and speech are vocally produced, linguistically meaningful, and have melody. On the other hand, both song and poetry use words to convey meaning, are usually written down before 'publication, can be put to music and listened to, for example a poetry reading for poems and a concert for songs. Above all, the most significant element that could be gained from song is the advantages on using them as media for learning language, particularly a foreign one. English song for the most instance is already proven to be effective medium in acquiring larger English vocabulary in research of this study
