Abstract

Hypertension is a health problem that requires particular attetion due to its high prevalence rate and its resulting long-term sequealae. in Indonesia. unhealthy life-style, lower affotdability of health service And lack of knowledge in finding alternative treatment result in the increase of hypertension prevalence. The aim of this study was to analyze effect on morinda juice consumption on blood pressure reduction among primary hypertensive patient. It was a pre-experimental study using one group pretest posttest design. Population was primary hypertensive patients in Badu, Badurame village, Sub district Turi, District of Lamongan. Total sample comprised 14 primary hypertensive patients who were recruited using non-probability sampling. The ndependent variable was morinda juice and the dependent variable was systolic and diutolic blood pressure. Pre-test blood pressure measurement was carried out prine to the consumption of rnorinda. juice 4 table spoon twice a day for 2S days, after which posI-tc5l blood pn::ssun: measurement was undertaken.. Data were analyze using paired I lest with significant level of p < 0,05 and t count > t table. Paired t test statistical test revealed that systolic blood pressure had P - 0.000 and t count - 8.446 and diastolic blood pressure had p - 0.000 and t count – 5,135. it was apparent that morinda juice had effect on !be reduction of blood. The juice should be consumed routinely on regular basis. As suggestion for further studies, be needed analyze adaptogenic substance function on morinda.
