Abstract

Cigarette is problem which never can be completed this handling. Among adolescent, smoking behavior likely has become inveterate thing. A lot of danger generated as result of cigarette for health. Indirectly behavior of this smoking will influence the bodily fitness of someone. This research was aimed to identify the differences of corporeal fitness value between adolescents smoker and non smoker adolescents at the male student of 2 class State High Vocational School 5 Surabaya with method Harvard Step Test Design used in this research was case control design. The population was all male students of 2 class State High Vocational School 5 Surabaya. Total sample was 18 respondents which has smoking behavior, taken according to inclusion criteria. As a control's groups was 18 respondents which hasn't smoking behavior. Data were collected using structured questionnaire and respondent observation and then analyzed using Chi square test with level of significance of p~ 0,05. Result showed that there is a significance difference between bodily fitness values of adolescent smoker and non smoker adolescent (p= 0,056). From result of inferential research that there is significant difference between bodily fitness values of adolescents smoker and non smoker adolescents. Further research should involve multiple variable and other measurement tools to obtain more accurate results.
