Abstract
Osteoarthritis represent joint rhematism disease wich is most met especially at people above 40 years old. But to date medication of osteoarthritis of space rehabilitate units of existance not standard yet apart effective SWD to relief of pain intensity in bone on osteoarthritis clients. The purpose of this study was to know effectiveness of Short Wave diathermy distance to pain intensity decrease on elderly osteoarthritis clients. This study was Quazy experimental design ( Two group Pre-post Control Designed) The population in this study were the elderly patients who have extremity osteoarthritis have visited to rehabilitation unit in Semarapura General Hospital Agency Klungkung-Bali, wich accounted 28 respodents, 14 respondents for 10 cm distance and 14 respondents for 30 cm distance.Technique of sampling in this study was Porposive sampling. Data collected by observation and quitionare and analyzed using Wilcoxon Ranks Sum W Test and Mann Whitney U Test with significant level p ~0,05. From 14 respondents that interveted with 10 cm SWD distance, all of respondents showed pain intensity decrease with significant level p = 0,000 and from 14 respondents that interveted with 30 cm SWD distance, all of respondents showed pain intensity decrease with significant level p = 0.008. It means there were more significant effect of 10 em SWD distance than 30 cm SWD distance. It can be concluded that using SWD with IDem distance really more efective than 30 cm distance on osteoarthritis clients. It means in SWD delivery influenced by distance of ray and object. So it can be suggestion to use SWD 10 cm distance on osteoarthritis especially in rehabilitation unit Semarapura General Hospital Agency Klungkung-Bali. Futher Studies to involve larger respondents and better measurement tools are needed to obtain more accurate results.
