Abstract

The dissemination of information was massive during the pandemic resulting the problrm of misinformation, making it difficult to obtain unreliable and reliable sources of information. One of the contents of misinformation circulating during the pandemic is herbal products can be effective to treat COVID-19. Pharmacy students enjoy the privilege of knowledge should be knowledgeable and responsive towards information circulating in the media. The study was to investigate the relationship between Capability, Opportunity, and Motivation on the behavior of pharmacy students in overcoming the spread of misinformation related to herbal medicine during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study used behavior theory approach, namely COM-B. This study was an observational and analytical descriptive study with a cross sectional design. The sampling technique used was non-random sampling by accidental sampling. This study involved 1008 respondents and subsequently tested for analysis. The result showed all the independent variables Capability, opportunity, and motivation have a significance value (p = 0.000), so it can be concluded that capability, opportunity, and motivation have a relationship with the behavior of pharmacy students in overcoming the spread of misinformation related to herbal medicine during the COVID-19 pandemic.
