Abstract

The purpose of this study is to proves the effect of white guava (Psidium guajava L.) fruit juice on Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN) and creatinine levels in rats (Rattus novergicus) exposed by lead acetate. The research used 25 male rats as subject and divided into five groups; C as control group which were given 0,5 ml distilled water orally; T0 were induced with lead acetate (50 mg/KgBW); T1, T2, T3 group were induced with lead acetate (50 mg/KgBW) and after 4 hours, it were administered in a row with 25%, 50%, and 100% concentration of white guava fruit juice. The treatments were conducted for 14 days. Samples were taken on day 21 . The data were compared using One Way ANOVA and DMRT Test. The ANOVA result of this research showed a significant differences (p<0.05) between groups. The DMRT test showed the lowest result on BUN and creatinine levels in T3 (39.960±1.0668; 0.6880±0.04147) and shows the highest result in T2 (41.720±1.1167; 0.7420±0.03194). That can be concluded that the administration of white guava fruit juice with graded concentration (25%, 50%, and 100%) has an effect to reduce BUN and creatinine levels significantly.
