Abstract

Patient safety is a variable to evaluate the quality of nursing service that influence to health care. Patient safety program is an attempt to reduce the incidence of unexpected event in patients during the treatment. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of nurses with the implementation of patient safety. This study used cross sectional design. Samples were nurses of inpatient of Puskesmas Bayan by using total sampling technique and there were any 20 persons. The data of independent variable were collected through questionnaire and the dependent variable collected through observation list. These data were analyzed by spearmen Rho statistical test with significance of α<0,05. The result of the study showed that there was a relationship between nurse knowledge with implementation of patient safety, with the value of p = 0.000. The result also showed that there were any relationship of nurse attitude to the implementation of patient safety with value of p = 0.007. these results mean that the higher knowledge and attitude may have good infuence to the implementation of patient safety. It can be conclude that there was any relationship between nurse knowledge and attitude with the implementation of the patient safety. The expedient of Puskesmas to improve the implementation of patient safety may with several way, such as training, seminars, and workshops about patient safety in order to facilitate the transfer of knowledge, thus nurses can provide safe nursing care.
