Abstract

The child�s social maturity of is a part of the child�s social development obtained through the socialization from the absorption of attitudes, values, society�s habits so that individuals become skllful in mastering the habits. The child's social maturity can be influenced by various factors; one of them is the pattern of education. This study was purposed to find out the difference of social maturity between pre-school children (5-6 years) studying in full day and regular school in Jombang district. The type of this study was analytic observational done by using cross sectional approach. The population involved all students of ABA and Al-Iman Kindergarten located in Jombang who met the criteria, totally 86 students. 52 students were taken as the samples by using simple random sampling technique and measured by applying the Vineland Social Maturity Scale (VSMS) and the Multi-Nominal Logistic Regression Test The result of study showed that there was a difference of social maturity between pre-school children studying in full day and regular school. But it was not significant in which ρ (0.094) > (0.05). To establish and manage a kindergarten, sufficient infrastructure facilities should be used to support the students� social maturity so that they can achieve their optimal growth and development.
