Abstract

This study aims to understand the audience reception of East Java identity by the Raka Raki Jawa Timur perception. Basic theory used in this study is the Analysis Reception, which states Reception analysis can be said to be a new perspective in the aspect of social discourse and communication theory (Jensen 1999:135). In other words, the perception of what our minds awakened about society and culture is largely determined by the concept. The research method qualitative descriptive used is a interpretive perspective. Research was conducted in Surabaya. Informants in this study were the winner of Raka Raki Jawa Timur since 2014 until 2017. Concluded that the analysis of this research has answered this reception, there are some perspective to creating East java concept in the analysis of audience reception the perception of those were the dominant culture, sub culture, people’s characteristic and the intepretation of East Java concept on Raka Raki Jawa Timur activity. This can be seen from the researcher interviewed informants in the field.
