Abstract

Japan is one of the most attractive and unique nation in the world. That is because Japan has culture, unique food, and natural beauties which can only be found in Japan. Because of those reasons Japan has its own attractiveness and able to attract the attention of foreign tourist to come visit. The numbers of foreign tourist that visited Japan is the proof of it. However, in early 2020 the whole World were shocked with the discovery of new virus, which is Covid -19. The city of Wuhan in China becomes its first discovery that will eventually spreads through the whole world. Since then every nation worldwide has closed its border and began to reject any foreign tourist or visitors, Japan was also included. But this travel ban cause a new problem especially in the tourism sector. The sudden and huge declining on the numbers of the foreign tourist up to 90% from the previous year. In this paper the writer is using the qualitative methods. To counter this effect the Japanese government comes up with new policies which are, the Japanese government are planning to revitalize the tourism sector, which will be start by the end of the pandemic Covid-19 season. Also to facilitate lending to business sectors that depend on tourism and to provide funding for the Go To Campaign with a fee subsidy up to 50% as a promotional event to attract local tourist to travel within Japan
