Abstract
Fan fiction is fiction stories which is written by fans about their idols. Fan fiction stories can be found on the internet because the writers of fan fiction usually are amateur writers. The most popular theme recently is yaoi fan fiction especially in Dong Bang Shin Ki fan fiction. Dong Bang Shin Ki is a one of the most famous boy band from Korea according to KBS World News Korea. Yaoi fan fiction which is containing a story about same-sex relationship (male-male love) becomes favorite theme for female readers or fan girls. By those circumstances, this research attempts to reveal the meaning of Dong Bang Shin Ki fan fiction especially YunJae, as the most famous couple in DBSK, fan fiction for female fans and to find out the reasons of women read yaoi fan fiction. YunJae fan fiction characteristics are including as slash fiction because of that this research uses Henry Jenkins theory of slash fan fiction. Jenkins’ theory has four elements slash as female pornography, slash as androgynous romance, slash as fantasy identification, and slash as homosocial desire. In order to make a qualitative research, the writer would like to limit and concentrate on Dong Bang Shin Ki fan fiction especially in Yunho and Jaejoong or YunJae couple. The writer will also do both library and online data collection to support the research. The study finds that female readers like to read YunJae fan fiction because YunJae fan fiction give them pleasure that they cannot get in their real life in patriarchal society.
